To enhance leadership and technical skills, creating well-balanced, confident individuals who incorporate mutual respect and trust to foster a cohesive work environment by:
1. Involving individuals in formal classroom training, practical field experience and self-development in a Type 1 crew setting.
2. Honing mastery of knowledge, skills and techniques to inspire, influence and guide students of fire.
3. Providing a safe, harassment free and disciplined work environment that has purpose, motivation and direction.
4. Providing individuals the opportunity, tools and freedom to explore the art of leadership by implementing change in the social as well as physical environment.
The Redmond Interagency Hotshot program provides individuals the opportunity to improve their knowledge and skills appropriate to their development and experience level while working on a nationally recognized Type 1 Hotshot crew.
It is our vision that the broad range of experience and personal growth gained by actively participating in the Redmond Interagency Hotshot program will build and enhance employees of all land management agencies, resource areas and disciplines.
