Great Basin Training - Policies, Nomination and Prioritization Process

GBTC Cancellation Policy:  All student cancellations must be made 14 days prior to the start of the course or the cancelling student will be charged tuition regardless of their agency.

GB Nomination Process   IQCS Requirements to Generate Noms
  • ALL nominations for federal employees for courses  hosted by the Great Basin Training Center will use the IQCS Nomination Process. State and local agencies may forward NWCG nomination forms by email or fax.
  • All GB nominations for sessions outside of the GB will use the IQCS Nomination Process provided the course is set up to accept nominations through IQCS, otherwise use the standard NWCG nomination form process. These nominations must be sent through the GB GATR to the hosting GATR.
  • All nominations from outside the GB requesting prioritization in GB courses will use the IQCS Nomination Process, otherwise use the NWCG nomination form process. These nominations must be passed to the GB GATR by your geographic area GATR.
  • ***NOTE: Non GB area applicants should follow nomination deadlines directed by your geographic area, typically prior to November 1. Noms are forwarded by your GATR to the GB in IQCS/electronically.
  • Any entity which does not have access to IQCS, continue to use the standard NWCG nomination form.
  • Only local training officers can create an IQCS nomination.
  • Training officer MUST add comments in the Comment Block for nominees who do not meet prerequisites or have other issues.

  • Training officers must enter all current employee contact information in IQCS.
  • To check on who has been nominated to course sessions the training officer can go to:  Manager Self-Service>Training & Dev> View Training Request Status

GB Nomination Prioritization Process
Nomination Due Date for GB Courses to local Training Officer: 
Nominations for fall courses must be entered in IQCS by September 1. Nominations for spring/summer courses must be entered in IQCS by October 1. Great Basin uses these dates to provide time for prioritization meetings.

Unit Training Rep. IQCS Level 1 Nominates personnel in IQCS for off-unit courses. Reviews course pre-requisites of nominees. Prioritizes unit nominees in IQCS for 300-600 level courses. 

Co-op/
Agency

IQCS Level 2 Reviews and prioritizes all Co-op/Agency nominees in IQCS for 300-600 level courses. 
Zone Training Rep. IQCS Level 3 Reviews and prioritizes all Zone (East ID, West ID, NV, UT) nominees in IQCS for 300-600 level courses. 
GB Training Committee IQCS Level 4

Reviews and prioritizes all GB Area nominees in IQCS for 300-600 level courses at GBTU and all other Geo Area courses which have GB applicants.  

GB GATR notifies other GATRs that GB nominees have been prioritized in IQCS and forwards non-IQCS e-nominations to GATRs as appropriate.
